In our weekly Member Profile series, we feature, among others, women entrepreneurs with sustainable brands. Today we introduce you to Natalia Monnard, who has managed to build a fully functioning business in less than a year after leaving her corporate career.

She is passionate about helping people make healthier choices about what they put on their skin by creating 100% natural skincare products. Inspired by other entrepreneurs, her goal is to be an inspiration for others to do the same. Learn more about this courageous businesswoman who clearly has a lot of energy.

Who is Natalia Monnard?
I was born and raised in Mexico and always grew up in a multicultural environment which has led me to be interested in many different fields, from humanitarian fields volunteering in a refugee camp, passing through the financial services world, and now battling for transparency and healthier consumer products in the beauty and personal care industry.

Being a consumer of natural cosmetics for almost a decade now, I always struggled to find products that would give me the results I need, the transparency I deserve and the excitement I want. As I started getting more and more interested and deeper into the topic, I realized the amount of green-washing, small print, and asterisks in the industry, and it made me ever more aware of the magnitude of the problem. So, my co-founders and I decided enough is enough, this industry needs to change!

This is how SQIN Ø came to life! We created a value-based company that has customer experience at the center of everything we do and provides 100% transparency on the content of our products. By using only premium ingredients of the highest quality, we are able to follow a skinimalist philosophy, meaning that we use as little ingredients in our products as possible, this allows for the skin to use all its absorption capacity for our active ingredients delivering outstanding results without the nasties!

Who or what has had a strong influence on your professional career?
This would be an incredibly long list from mentors to family to even examples of people I did NOT want to become. But I guess the single biggest driver behind is purpose. That’s why being CEO and co-founder of SQIN Ø is so empowering: because I am convinced that what we are doing is more than having a company and selling cosmetics. We are at the forefront of a consumer-led transformation in one of the most widespread used industries in the world, and we are doing so with clear values.

Why are you a member of bwomen?
I strongly believe a woman helping another woman is like our own special superpower. This is a wonderful platform to support each other, partner-up, encourage and help raise awareness. Humans need other humans, and we can simply achieve more and better when we do things together.
