Who is Marionna Wegenstein?
Born and raised in Zurich, I now live with my family in Erlenbach, but still am a „Stadtkind". I love riding my bike through the Bürkliplatz market early in the morning or swimming in the lake. After gaining experience in journalism, in a PR agency and as a communications manager in various companies, I now work as an independent communications consultant, primarily in the financial sector and in philanthropy. I like dealing with demanding and complex issues and personalities and finding the most efficient solutions is my challenge. After more than 20 years of experience in the communications and finance industry, I know what shapes the media landscape and moves companies and executives.

Who or what shaped you the most for your professional career?
Strong personalities who have encouraged and challenged me have repeatedly crossed my path. It's important to keep an open mind and take advantage of every encounter. In my youth, I was certainly inspired by my aunt, who was a strong woman and a high-profile journalist, but also by my family and long-time friends, who have always supported me. For my current job, my very encouraging and constructive experience as a communications manager in the private banking sector has been a guiding light. Important teachers are also my curiosity and my love of travel, which have taken me around the world and always give me cause for self-reflection.

Why are you a bwomen member?
I am convinced that women basically do not foster their networks enough and, above all, use them too little - a lot of potential, be it to exchange experiences or to establish and broker business contacts, lies unexploited here. bwomen is the ideal platform for like-minded people who want to change that.
